One School Record Broken on Opening Day of METS Championships

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (2/17/22) – The Kean University women's swimming team broke one school record and currently sits in 8th place after the opening day of Metropolitan Championships at Rutgers University.

"It's always a great feeling to open the meet with a school record", said Head Coach Chris Swenson.

Kean set the record in the 800 Freestyle Relay, when Amanda Davis, Brianna Shaw, Teagan Powell and Krisztina Balogh combined for a new time of 8:18.57.

"These girls have worked incredibly hard all season and today was a perfect start to what we believe will be a great championship meet!".

The Cougars have totaled 44 points through one event on Day One.

Coach Swenson and the Cougars will return to the pool for day two of the Metropolitan Championships.
