PISCATAWAY, N.J. (2/18/22) – The Kean University women's swimming team broke three school records and currently sits in 7
th place after the second day of Metropolitan Championships at Rutgers University.
"This team showed up ready to race today", said Head Coach
Chris Swenson.
Brianna Shaw set a school record in the 200 IM during the morning session (2:12.88), before coming back in the evening to break her own record during the "B" Finals (2:11.69).
The Cougars also posted a new school record in the 200 Medley Relay (
Amanda Davis,
Teagan Powell, Shaw and
Katie Pileggi) with a time of 1:52.10.
"We've gone 100% season best swims so far this weekend and the energy has great! Can't wait to see what we do tomorrow!".
The Cougars have totaled 116 points through 12 events.
Coach Swenson and the Cougars will return to the pool for day three of the Metropolitan Championships.
