Three More Records Fall on Final Day of Metropolitan Championships

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (2/20/22) -The Kean University women's swimming team dropped three more school records on the final day of the Metropolitan Championships at Rutgers University.

"What an amazing weekend", said Head Coach Chris Swenson.

The Cougars finished the competition in sixth place with 399 points. Kean capped off the final day with new records in the 200 Breast (twice) and the 200 Fly.

Teagan Powell sets new records in the 200 Breast during the morning session (2:27.97) and in the evening during the "A" finals (2:25.45). Powell recorded a third place finish in that event. Brianna Shaw established a new time in the 200 Fly (2:08.44) during the "A" finals. Shaw recorded a second place in that event.

On the weekend, Kean set 13 school records.

"This team battled all weekend and I love the direction we're heading as a program.
