MAHWAH, N.J. (3/1/22) - Rajheem Meulens totaled 14 kills and six digs as the Kean University men's volleyball team dropped a New Jersey Athletic Conference contest to Ramapo College, 3-1 on Tuesday evening.
Andrew Finnegan finished with 21 kills and 12 digs for the Roadrunners who improve to 7-7 overall and 1-1 in the NJAC.
Duncan Beilke tallied 12 kills and five digs for the Cougars who fall to 10-6 overall and 0-2 in the NJAC.
The Cougars hit .458 in the opening set to propel Kean to their first set victory in NJAC play. Beilke and Meulens combined for 11 kills on 23 swings with no errors as the Cougars held a late 19-15 advantage. Kean maintained a three-point lead at 23-20, before Ramapo used a 4-0 run to even the set at 24-24. The Cougars notched the final three points, including a
Ryan DiCandilo block.
Ramapo dominated by hitting north of .280 across the final three sets. Kean was held to below .121 across the final three sets.
Quincy Rooi totaled seven kills and 10 digs, while
Maxwell Thompson recorded five kills and two digs.
Zach Noll handed out 35 assists, while
Cris Naranjo collected six digs.
