Ashland, Va. (3/7/22) – The Kean University women's lacrosse team used a third quarter surge to push past host Randolph-Macon College, 16-10, on Monday evening.
Trailing for the entire first 30 minutes, the Cougars adjusted at the break and came out firing, scoring six straight. Dana Meehan tied things up at eight-all three minutes into the quarter and a little over a minute later Kylie Giordano netted one of her seven goals of the night to give Kean their first lead of the contest, a lead they would not relinquish.
Nicole Peters helped the cause with five saves in the final 30 minutes as the Yellow Jackets were held to just two goals in the last two quarters.
Meehan finished with three goals and three assists while Emily Bretschneider had six draw controls, four groundballs, two caused turnovers and an assist. Katie Pileggi added six draw controls, four groundballs, three caused turnovers and an assist.
The Cougars enjoy a short break and will next be back in action on Wednesday, March 16th at home vs. Eastern University.
