UNION, N.J. (4/23/22) – Head Coach
Shelley Sheiner captured his 200
th career victory as the Kean University men's lacrosse team rolled to a 26-3 victory over Bryn Athyn College on Senior Day.
Connor Batjer totaled eight points on four goals and four assists for the Cougars who improve to 10-4 overall and 4-1 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference. Jamal White tallied two points on one goal and one assist for the Lions who fall to 1-6 overall and 1-3 in the CSAC.
Batjer led 15 different goal scorers, including 16 different players tallying at least one point.
After being tied at 1-1 over the first five minutes, Kean scored 11 straight goals for an 11-2 halftime advantage. Batjer notched five points (2 goals, 3 assists),
Brady Moore tallied four points (1 goal, 3 assists), and both
Alex Hufford and
Kyle Ryder recorded three points (2 goals, 1 assist) over the first 30 minutes.
In the third, Batjer, Ryder, and
Dante Magliano all scored two goals apiece during a 10-goal quarter. The Cougars led 22-3 entering the fourth.
Ryder finished with six points on four goals and two assists, while Moore notched six points on four assists and two goals. Hufford,
Tommy Pellegrino,
Anthony Porter, and
Nick Thorne all finished with four points apiece.
At faceoffs,
Christian Baucom went 23-for-25 with six groundballs. On the turf,
Joseph McNulty collected 10 groundballs, while
Steven Thorne tallied seven. On defense,
Tyler Brookes and
Matt Palmieri each recorded three caused turnovers apiece.
In goal,
Thomas Francy,
Devin Reppert,
Femi Fadipe and
Michael Yukas combined for eight saves in 60 minutes of work.
