UNION, N.J. (5/16/22) – Heather Clevenger and
Eliza Filus were both named to the All-Tournament Team as the second seed Kean University softball team bowed out of the NCAA Tournament with an 8-0 loss to top seed and third ranked Eastern Connecticut State in the Union Regional Final on Monday morning.
Alexis Michon was named the Tournament's Most Outstanding Player for the Warriors who improve to 41-5 overall.
Sarah Zengel and Filus both went 1-for-2 for the Cougars who finish their season at 32-10 overall.
ECSU capitalized on a throwing error which led to four runs crossing the plate in the first. The Warriors added another run in the third on a second throwing error from the defense.
ECSU added two insurance runs in the sixth with a two RBI double and an RBI single.
Annabella Marino struck out two batters in 4 1/3 innings pitched.
