UNION, N.J. (9/17/22) –
Delaney McGlade scored two goals as the Kean University women's soccer team shutout the College of Mount Saint Vincent, 4-0 on Saturday afternoon.
Sonya Brewer and
Gracie Casias each tallied a goal for the Cougars who improve to 2-3-2 overall. Javiera Sanchez and Brooke Frierson combined for four saves as the Dolphins who fall to 2-2 overall.
Brewer opened the scoring on the afternoon with a loose ball goal in the 22
nd minute. The Cougars maintained that lead into halftime.
In the second half, McGlade scored twice in the opening three minutes to propel Kean to a 3-0 advantage. The first goal came in the 47
th minute as
Tara Miner served a ball into the sophomore who flicked it past the keeper. The second goal came in the 48
th minute as
Renee Rocha made a quick pass to McGlade who beat the keeper one-on-one. Casais capped off the scoring with a goal off a
Kelly Zambrana assisted ball in 80
th minute.
Kean dominated on shots (19-6), shots on goal (8-2) and corner kicks (7-2).
McGlade recorded four shots, while
Rebecca Zahner and Casais both tallied three shots apiece.
Abigail Wing totaled two saves in 90 minutes of work.
