UNION, N.J. (9/3/2022) – Peyton Mann recorded two goals as the #9 Kean University field hockey team shutout Immaculata University, 6-0 in their home opener on Saturday afternoon.
Jorja Hibschman tallied a goal and an assist for the Cougars who improve to 1-1 overall. Julia Levase notched 20 saves for the Mighty Macs who fall to 0-2 overall.
Hibschman scored and assisted on the Cougars first two goals as Kean held a 2-0 advantage early in the third quarter. Mann, who notched both of her goals in the third quarter, propelled Kean to a 5-0 advantage entering the fourth.
In the final quarter,
Kelsey Corbett tallied her first goal as a Cougar and
Laura Stump added another as Kean increased their lead to 6-0.
The Cougars dominated the contest on shots (52-2), shots on goal (35-1), and penalty corners (19-1).
Mann recorded 11 shots, while Stump and
Ja'Carra Jackson tallied nine apiece. In goal,
Jenna Flemings,
Belly Reynoso, and
Azure Jones combined for one save in 60 minutes of work.
