Brooklyn, N.Y. (11/15/23) – Five Cougars scored in double figures as the Kean University women's basketball team defeated host Brooklyn College, 80-49 on Wednesday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
After trading the lead early, Kean (2-2) took the lead for good with a 14-2 run midway through the first quarter. Tied at 10-all, Brittany Graff's steal led to a bucket from Shahd Badeer. The Cougars then connected on four three-pointers to widen their advantage.
Kean pushed their advantage out to 14 in the second quarter with a layup from Graff.
The Cougars cruised through the final 20 minutes, outscoring the Bulldogs (1-1), 42-24.
Eleven players saw action in the contest for Kean as Gissel Gamble led all players with 17 points and seven assists. Badeer recorded a double-double (15 points, 12 rebounds) and Graff added 15 points, six assists, four steals and three rebounds.
