Newark, N.J. (12/2/23) – The Kean University women's basketball team used a balanced scoring attack and led wire-to-wire to top host Rutgers-Newark, 75-59 on Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Cougars (4-4, 2-1 NJAC) jumped out to a quick 11-2 lead in the first five minutes of action.  Macy Seaman provided five points in the run.

Kean led by seven at the break as Gissel Gamble recorded 11 first half points.

The Cougars led by as many as 20 on two occasions in the third quarter.

INSIDE THE BOX:

Gamble led all players with 29 points and five assists while Seaman finished with a double-double 15 points and 16 rebounds while also adding five blocks.

Brittany Graff and Riley Ahrens rounded out the double-digit scoring as each finished with 10 points.  Graff registered eight assists.

Kean returns home and will face The College of New Jersey on Wednesday evening at 5:30 p.m.
