Montclair, N.J. (2/11/23) – The Kean University women's basketball team improved to 13-4 in the NJAC with one game left in the regular season with a win over Montclair State University by the final of 56-48.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
It was a close see-saw battle over the first 20 minutes of action as Kean was able to hold a very slim one-point lead going into the break.
It was more of the same in the second half with the Cougars pulling away late in the fourth quarter.
Tied 44-all with just under seven minutes to go, Kean took the lead for good. Sarah Olivero put the Cougars ahead with a free throw and Shannon McCoy pushed the lead out to five with two free throws and later a bucket. The Red Hawks (11-13, 8-9 NJAC) closed within three with two minutes to go but Brittany Graff answered with a trey to give Kean some cushion.
McCoy added two free throws late for what would be the final.

Macy Seaman finished with 10 points, eight rebounds and five blocks while McCoy had a team-high 14 points. Kayla Anderson contributed with 13 points and nine rebounds.
