NEW PALTZ, N.Y. (3/11/23) – Rajheem Meulens and Chris Mitchell combined for 28 kills over two matches as the Kean University men's volleyball team fell to Elmira College and #10 SUNY New Paltz in a tri-match hosted by New Paltz on Saturday.

Elmira 3 (10-4), Kean 0 (9-6)

• Elmira swept Kean in straight sets (20-25, 21-25, 18-25).
• The Soaring Eagles tallied 45 kills and 17 errors on 98 swings.
• The Cougars tallied 23 kills and 13 errors on 87 swings.
• Elmira posted a .286 hitting percentage.
• Kean was held to a .115 hitting percentage.
• The Soaring Eagles notched double digit kills in each set.
• The Cougars never hit above .150 in any set.
• Meulens totaled 13 kills and a .346 hitting percentage.
• Luke Frankenfield totaled 19 assists and five digs.
• Cris Naranjo collected 11 digs.
• Alberto Mauricio posted a double-double of 20 kills and 18 digs for the Soaring Eagles.

#10 New Paltz 3 (17-7), Kean 2 (9-7)

• #10 New Paltz defeated Kean in five sets (25-22, 17-25, 25-21, 11-25, 6-15).
• The Hawks tallied 56 kills and 17 errors on 128 swings.
• The Cougars tallied 37 kills and 29 errors on 125 swings.
• New Paltz hit .305 for the match.
• Kean was held to .064 for the match.
• The Cougars hit positive only in the sets they won (sets one and three)
• The Hawks had above a .300 hitting percentage in three of the five sets, including posting over .600 in the final two sets.
• Andrew DuHaime totaled 11 kills.
• Mitchell notched 10 kills.
• Aidan Flinn totaled eight digs, seven kills and three blocks assists.
• Frankenfield posted a double-double with 30 assists and 13 digs.
• Pat Wing notched 20 kills and a .432 hitting percentage for the Hawks.

Head Coach Bez Arslani and the Cougars will return to action on Friday, Mar. 17^th, hosting the Royals of Eastern Mennonite University for a CVC match at 7:00 p.m.
