Porter Notches 100th Career Point in Rout of Immaculata

IMMACULATA, Pa. (3/4/23) – Anthony Porter notched his 100th career point as the Kean University men's lacrosse team routed Immaculata University, 20-4 on Saturday afternoon.

Connor Batjer finished with four points on four goals for the Cougars who improve to 2-0 overall. David Azzarono totaled two points on two goals for the Mighty Macs who fall to 2-3 overall.
First Half
  • Kean led 10-0 at halftime
  • The Cougars outshot IMAC 36-12, including 23-6 on frame.
  • Nick Thorne notched all four of his points in the first half with three assists and one goal.
  • Batjer and Porter tallied two goals apiece.
  • Anton Updale collected a goal and an assist.
  • Porter notched his 100th career point on the final goal of the first quarter.
  • Jonathan Slusser also tallied his first career point with an assist on a Thorne goal.
Second Half
  • Immaculata finally got on the board with two goals in the opening seven minutes.
  • Kean increased their lead to 15-2, behind goals by Max Stevens, Dylan Johnson, Batjer and Giancarlo DeFilippis.
  • The Cougars hit the 20 goal mark in the fourth when Porter connected with Batjer on a man-up situation.

  • Stevens notched three, while Tommy Hamtil, Cormac McCabe and Slusser all posted two apiece.

Milestone Watch
  • Today's victory puts Head Coach Shelley Sheiner at 202 career victories. Sheiner needs six wins to become the winningest coach in program history surpassing his mentor Hawley Waterman, who won 207 career games at Kean from 1970 to 1994.
Coach Sheiner and the Cougars will return to action on Wednesday, Mar. 8th, in Madison, N.J. against the Devils of FDU-Florham at 7:00 p.m.
