Ewing, N.J. (5/3/23) – Top seeded The College of New Jersey defeated the Kean University women's lacrosse team, 20-1, in the semifinals of the New Jersey Athletic Conference Tournament on Wednesday afternoon.
The loss ends the Cougars season with a 4-12 overall mark.
Ranked sixth nationally, the Lions (14-3) used a balanced scoring attack scoring eight goals in the first and seven more in the second quarter for a 15-0 halftime advantage.
They pushed across three more in the third and were leading 19-0 before Kean erased the shutout in the fourth quarter. Sam Murri converted a free position attempt with just under nine minutes to go in the contest.
TCNJ will face Rowan University for the conference championship on Saturday.
