Women's Basketball Makes it Seven Straight

Mahwah, N.J. (1/24/24) – The Kean University women's basketball team picked up their seventh straight win by defeating host Ramapo College, 66-62 on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Tied at 10-all the Cougars (13-6, 10-2 NJAC) went on a 10-0 run for their first double-digit advantage of the evening.  Rookie Gigi Gamble provided nine of the 10 points in the rally.

The Roadrunners (12-7, 8-4 NJAC) kept pace with Kean in the second frame dropping their deficit back into single digits (37-31).

Kean pushed their advantage out to 15 points on two occasions in the final minutes of the third quarter.

Ramapo made things interesting and pulled within three in the final minute of action in the game.  Neither team was able to connect on a basket in the final 60 seconds, but Gamble was able to convert one of her two free throw with 13 seconds left to give Kean a two possession advantage.  Ramapo's final two-point jumper was unsuccessful, sealing the win for Kean.
