Men’s Basketball Comes Up Short Against Rowan

UNION, N.J. (1/6/24) – Trey Harts totaled 17 points and 10 rebounds as the Kean University men's basketball team dropped a New Jersey Athletic Conference contest to Rowan University, 85-80 on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED!!!
  • After trading buckets for the first 12 minutes of the contest, Rowan closed out the half on a 21-10 run to hold their largest lead of the game at 47-32 with two minutes remaining.
  • Harts finished with four points down the stretch as the Cougars trailed 47-38 at halftime.
  • Kean opened the second half on a 13-2 run sparked by seven points from Brandon Upshaw which evened the game at 49-49.
  • The Profs maintained their lead through the second stanza, but Kean stayed within striking distance.
  • Kean finally took the lead with just over five minutes to play as D.J. Alicea knocked down a jumper and Mike Isaac stole an inbound pass before hitting a jumper in the print to give the Cougars a 74-71 lead.
  • Another even stretch saw Justin Morton nail a triple to give Kean their final lead of the contest.
  • Rowan closed on a 6-0 run over the final 69 seconds, including a layup and two free-throws from Khalif Meares.
