Back-to-Back Goals Propels Men’s Soccer Past NJCU

UNION, N.J. (10/12/24) – Two goals in less than a minute propelled the Kean University men's soccer team to their first New Jersey Athletic Conference victory with a 2-1 decision over New Jersey City University on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED!!!
  • After a scoreless first half, NJCU struck first when Hans Zoller converted on a penalty attempt in the 68th minute.
  • The Gothic Knights earned the attempt after Daniel Nigro fouled Christian Palmer just outside the 18-yard box.
  • The Cougars found the equalizer in the 75th minute when David Esteban Camargo flicked in a Josser Amaya free kick.
  • Kean notched the eventual game-winner just 45 seconds later when a Tyler Manteiro cross was headed home by Yasser Aglaguel.
INSIDE THE BOX
  • The Cougars led on shots (12-8) and shots on goal (8-3).
  • Camargo, Donte East, and Amaya all notched two shots apiece.
