New York, N.Y. (10/12/24) – The Kean University women's volleyball team shutout host Hunter College, 3-0 on Saturday.
With the win, head coach Don Perkins recorded his 300th women's volleyball head coaching victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Cougars (10-9) trailed early but used a five-point surge with three blocks and a kill from Cayley Elena Morrison. The Hawks pulled within two (21-19), but Morrison powered through with two kills to give Kean a small cushion down the stretch.
In the second set, Kean surged ahead with a six point run midway through to keep a lead they would not relinquish.
Trailing late in what would be the final frame, the Cougars scored eight of the game's final 10 points to walk away with the win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Morrison tied her own career-high with nine total blocks (four solo) while adding a team-high 11 kills while hitting .556.
Madeline Dohogne recorded 16 digs and two aces while teammate Olivia Capra provided four kills, three aces and six digs.
Aubre Adams and Bella Stem each finished with eight points as Adams registered six kills and four assisted blocks and Stem recorded eight kills.
