PITMAN, N.J. (10/7/24) – Chris Amos has been named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, while
Michael Beers has been tabbed the NJAC Defensive Rookie of the Week.
Amos earns NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honors for anchoring Kean to its first win of the season, a 25-18 victory over William Paterson in the conference opener. He had two tackles for a loss (23 yards), a 16-yard sack, an 18-yard interception, two pass breakups, and eight overall tackles. His interception led to a Kean field goal to open scoring in the first quarter.
Beers earns NJAC Defensive Rookie of the Week honors for his contribution in Kean's 25-18 win over William Paterson in the conference opener for both teams. The rookie linebacker tallied four tackles – three of which were solo – and a forced fumble in the homecoming win for the Cougars.
Kean travels to Montclair State on Saturday.
