Falloon Announces Resignation; Accepts Full-Time Position at University of Miami

Union, N.J (3/12/24)Peter-John Falloon has announced his resignation as the head men's soccer coach at Kean University to accept a full-time position at the University of Miami as the assistant women's soccer coach.

"Kean University has been home to me for the last seven years," stated Falloon.  "I want to thank former Athletic Director Jack McKiernan who hired me back in 2017. I would also like to give a special thanks to the administrators, coaches, athletic trainers and current Athletic Director Kelly Williams for the moral support and guidance both physically and mentally. Last but not least, to the student-athletes and assistant coaches, I cannot thank you enough for your unconditional service to the men's soccer program, on and off the field and within the community. I will never forget you. It is now time to reunite with my family in Florida and start a new exciting chapter at the University of Miami.  Thank you and Go Cougars!"

Falloon spent seven seasons as the head coach at Kean, highlighted by an NJAC championship in 2021 and NCAA tournament first round win the same season.  The Kean alumnus compiled a 57-40-20 overall record in his seven seasons at the helm, good for a .572 winning percentage.  His teams advanced to the conference tournament four times while compiling 23 all-conference selections.  Under his tutelage his players have received one All-America nod, five All-Region awards, and four major awards at the conference or ECAC level.

He arrived at Kean after spending the previous nine seasons at Bloomfield University (Division II).  In Falloon's tenure, the Bears posted an overall record of 78-75-14 (.509) and reached the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament in seven of his nine seasons, capturing the title in 2015.  In addition, he was a part of the program's first trip to the NCAA Tournament in 2010.

A native of Saint Andrew, Jamaica, Falloon was one of the top goalkeepers in his country from his early days on the pitch. He was a member of the Jamaican under-12 National Team and was a standout between the posts at Ardenne High School.  When his career at Ardenne came to a close, Falloon was offered an opportunity to play for the under-23 Jamaican national team, but chose to depart and head to the United States in 2000.

Upon his arrival in the U.S. he played for two years at Union County College before transferring to Kean for his final two seasons.  While at Kean he played in 38 games, collecting 149 saves with a 1.19 goals against average and 10 shutouts.

Immediately after graduating after the fall semester in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Communication, he began his coaching career.  His first stop was back at Union County College where he was an assistant for two seasons.  He helped guide UCC to the NJCAA National Final in 2007.

A search will begin this spring for his replacement.
