UNION, N.J. (3/22/24) – Melody Caces finished 4-for-8 with three runs scored, including smacking her 100^th career hit as the Kean University softball team split a doubleheader with Drew University on Friday afternoon.

Game 1: Drew 6, Kean 5

• Maya Thompson powered the Cougars to three runs over the first three innings, including a two-run homer in the third.
• Nikki Lusnia tossed a no-hitter into the fifth, before Drew notched three runs in the inning with an RBI double and a two-run homer.
• The Rangers added to their lead in the sixth with back-to-back RBI's.
• The Cougars got some runs back in the bottom of the inning with a two-run homer from Karly Messina.
• Thompson, Caces and Messina all had a multi-hit game.

Game 2: Kean 8, Drew 4

• The Cougars opened the scoring in game two after Messina notched her second homerun of the afternoon with a two run shot in the first.
• After surrendering the lead in the top of the third, Eliza Filus and Lauren Paulk both homered in the bottom half of the inning to regain the advantage at 6-3.
• Drew would cut the lead to 6-4 in the fifth with a Molly O'Brien solo homer.
• Kean added insurance runs in the sixth with an RBI fielder's choice by Thompson and an RBI sac fly from Paulk.
• Filus and Caces both went 2-for-4 at the dish.
• Anabella Farinha picked up the victory in the circle.
