Rowan (17-5) scored a single run in their first at-bat as Peyton MacNair singled with the bases loaded and one out.  Nikki Lusnia got out of further trouble striking out the next two batters.

The Profs then pushed the game wide open in the top of the fourth with four runs and four hits.  Highlighting the action was a two RBI single from Cat Thomas with two outs.

Thomas added one more in the top of the sixth with a two out, solo homer to centerfield.

Game Two – Rowan 6, Kean 4

HOW IT HAPPENED:

After a quick top of the first, it was the Cougars (12-9) who jumped out first with three runs in the bottom of the inning.  Melody Caces and Eliza Filus both got aboard with singles and after a successful sacrifice both were in scoring position.  Caces crossed the plate with the game's first run on a wild pitch and Maya Thompson delivered an RBI single for the 2-0 lead.  Bella Truelove doubled to put her and Thompson in scoring position and Andee Perseponko drove in one with a single up the middle.

Rowan took the lead, a lead they would not relinquish, in the top of the third with five runs.  The Profs strung together four hits and took advantage of two Cougar errors.

The Cougars got one back in the fourth as Perseponko singled and later scored off an RBI single from Brianna Sciulli.

Liz McCaffery was 2-for-4 with two RBI for the Profs.
