Union, N.J. (4/8/24) – The Kean University baseball team improved to 15-11 with a 19-2 non-conference victory over Gwynedd Mercy University on Monday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Griffins (7-15) jumped out on top first with a single run in the first inning without a hit.
Kean responded in the same inning and took the lead for good with a five spot.
The Cougars balanced the scoring adding two more in the second, four in the fourth and eight in the eighth.
In total 20 Cougars saw action in the contest.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Kyle Adorno and Dan Reistle each were 4-for-4 with two runs scored. Adorno added two RBI while Reistle had a team-high four RBI.
Rookie Nick Sellari was 2-for-5 with two runs scored and three RBI while teammate JT Abrusci was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two walks.
Dominic Masino rounded out the multi-hit day performances with a 2-for-5 day and two runs scored and two RBI.
Connor Ramsey earned his first collegiate win tossing five innings allowing two hits and no earned runs. He struck out six and walked three.
