Camden, N.J. (5/4/24) – The Kean University baseball team fell to Rowan for the second time this week, by the final of 10-5 on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Rowan (26-12) took a 4-0 lead through the fifth inning. The Profs plated two in the first with an RBI single and sac fly and added two more in the fifth scoring on a balk and an RBI single from James Morgan (his second RBI of the day).
Kean (27-15) pulled within one in the sixth as Phil Marcantonio lined a three run homer to left. With the homerun, Marcantonio tied the Kean career mark with 33.
The Profs added insurance in the seventh with five more runs. Highlighting the action was a two RBI double from Anthony Schooley and a two RBI single from Marco Mannino.
The Cougars cut into the deficit in the eighth scoring two as Justin Teixeira collected an RBI single and Dan Reistle registered an RBI groundout.
Morgan recorded his third RBI of the day with an RBI single in the eighth for what would be the final.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Thomas Sullivan earned the win for Rowan. He improved to 4-1 after tossing six innings, allowing three runs and four hits.

Kean will wait to see if they earn an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament which is announced late on Sunday, May 12th.
