GLASSBORO, N.J. (5/7/24) – Maya Thompson and Karly Messina both finished 2-for-3 as the third seeded Kean University softball team was shutout by top seeded Rowan University, 7-0 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference Tournament on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED!!!

• Nikki Lusnia tossed three scoreless innings before the Profs earned single runs in both the fourth and fifth innings, respectively.  
• Rowan added five runs on five hits in the sixth to push their lead to a commanding 7-0 entering the seventh.

INSIDE THE BOX

• Eliza Filus went 1-for-3 at the dish.
• Lusina struck out six in the loss.
• Rowan pushes their scoreless streak to 27 innings in the NJAC Tournament after the Profs needed 20 innings to defeat TCNJ yesterday.

UP NEXT

• Kean faces second seed Ramapo in an elimination game on Friday at Rowan. If the Cougars win, they will need to beat the Profs twice to capture the championship.
