Field Hockey Falls Short Against Nationally Ranked New Paltz

NEW PALTZ, N.Y. (9/25/24) – Two goals over the final two minutes of regulation proved to be not enough as the Kean University field hockey team dropped a non-conference contest to #21 SUNY New Paltz, 4-3 in overtime on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED!!!
  • The Hawks notched two goals in the opening quarter, including one during a corner situation and one on a bad clear.
  • The Cougars broke through in the 21st minute when Conroy blasted home a loose ball.
  • New Paltz pushed their lead to 3-1 after an Amanda Quenneville goal in the 51st minute.
  • The Cougars would force overtime with back-to-back scores over the final two minutes.
  • Jazymne Frack scored on a double tap off the stick of Adrianna Duda in the 58th minute.
  • Kelsey Corbett scored with 37 seconds remaining on a long pass into the circle.
  • In overtime, the Hawks tallied the game-winner on an open net.
