Box Score Williamsport, Pa. (9/27/24) – The Kean University women's tennis team picked up their first win of the season by the final of 5-2 on Friday evening.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
The Cougars (1-0) picked up a point in doubles action, winning both second and third doubles. The duo of Ashley Mendoza-Tarazona and Zola Halimana recorded a straight set (6-0) win at second doubles, while Emily Lari and Eve Hunter earned a default win at third doubles.
In singles action, Kean earned victories at second, fourth, fifth and sixth singles. Gulnora Kuchkorova fought for a win at second singles (7-5, 6-3) while Halimana and Gigi Gutierrez recorded 6-0, 6-0 wins at fourth and fifth singles. Lari picked up a default win at sixth singles to close out the scoring.
