Union, N.J. (10/25/25) – The Kean University men's soccer team picked up a 2-1 win over Rutgers-Camden on Saturday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Cougars were first to strike in the seventeenth minute as Daniel Nigro created a pick stop for David Esteban Camargo who guided the ball to Donte East streaking up the right side of the field. East fired a laser that bounced off the opposite post and into the net for the game's first tally.
Kean was able to jump ahead 2-0 early in the second half on what would be an own goal. Nigro lined a cross into the box that was initially saved by the Scarlet Raptors keeper. However, a defender got tangled with the keeper and fired what was hoped to be a clear into the net.
Rutgers-Camden was able to erase the shutout in the 66th minute taking advantage of an open net situation. Dylan Pino drew the Cougar keeper out of the net toward the end line on a run and before the ball could go out-of-bounds he tipped it around the keeper creating a clear pass to Nik Grello who was waiting in front of an open net for the goal.

Jaxon Mast had seven stops in the win.
