PITMAN, N.J. (10/27/25) – Cayley Elena Morrison has been named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, while
Ashley Torok has been tabbed the New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week.
Morrison totaled 62.5 points, 49 kills, 22 blocks as the Cougars 4-0 this past week. The Elizabeth, N.J. native averaged 4.80 points per set, 3.77 kills per set and 1.69 blocks per set over 13 sets played. She dominated defensively with five total blocks against both Dickinson (5 solo) and Ramapo (3 solo, 3 assists), posted six total blocks (6 solo, 2 assists) against Haverford, and recorded four total blocks (1 solo, 3 assists) in the opening sweep of Rowan. She was equally effective offensively, recording 49 kills while hitting an impressive .396 for the week, including a blistering .583 performance (17 kills) against Dickinson and .480 (14 kills) versus Rowan. She currently leads the NJAC in hitting percentage (.374) and blocks (1.09/set), ranks fourth in points (4.16/set), and sixth in kills (3.43/set).
Torok totaled 58.5 points, 51 kills, and 33 digs as the Cougars 4-0 this past week. The Woodbridge, N.J. native averaged 4.50 points per set, 3.92 kills per set and 2.54 digs per set over 13 sets played. She paced Kean with 18 kills against Ramapo in a four-set win and delivered 15 kills in the opening victory over Rowan. Torok capped her week with a stellar .500 hitting percentage (13 kills, 1 error on 24 attempts) and 13 digs against Haverford. The rookie currently ranks second overall and first among freshman in kills (3.85/set) and third overall/first among freshman in points (4.43/set).
