O'Brien and Morrison Earn Yearly Honors; Five Cougars Earn All-NJAC

Pitman, N.J. (11/12/25) – Senior Aspen O'Brien and junior Cayley Elena Morrison have been named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Player and Co-Defensive Player of the Year, respectively, highlighting five Cougars named to the all-conference team.

Joining O'Brien and Morrison on the first team is rookie Ashley Torok.  Seniors Aubre Adams and Madeline Dohogne garnered honorable mention accolades.

O'Brien orchestrated one of the NJAC's most potent offenses this season, leading the conference in assists per set (11.08) while directing Kean to the regular season title and top seed in the NJAC Tournament. The senior setter totaled 288 assists in conference play and added 56 digs (2.15/set), 13 service aces and 26 kills. She also contributed 13 service aces against NJAC opponents (0.50/set) to rank in the top 10 in the conference. A Week 4 NJAC Player of the Week, O'Brien earns First Team All-Conference honors for the first time after twice receiving Second Team recognition in 2023 and 2024.  She becomes the sixth Kean player to earn the distinction and first since 2019.

Morrison proved to be a dominant force on both sides of the ball for Kean. The junior middle hitter from Elizabeth led the conference in hitting percentage (.392) and blocks per set (1.19), totaling 31 blocks including 13 solo blocks against NJAC opponents. She also ranked fourth in conference-only points per set (4.54) and fifth in kills per set (3.69). Morrison was twice named NJAC Player of the Week and twice named Defensive Player of the Week. She is now a three-time First Team All-Conference selection (2023, 2024, 2025). She becomes the second Cougar to earn the award.

Torok was one of two freshmen selected to the first-team after finishing third in NJAC-only stats in kills (117-4.33 per set), top 15 in hitting percentage and top 25 in aces.  She collected eight blocks, 48 digs and 11 aces while participating in 27 sets.

Adams earns All-NJAC for the first time in her career.  She finished ninth in the NJAC in blocks (10) and seventh in hitting percentage (.309).  In 18 sets played, she recorded 30 kills.

Dohogne is making her first appearance on the All-NJAC squad.  She was fifth in the NJAC in digs (3.96 per set, 95 total) and 10th in aces (12 total, 0.50 per set).
