UNION, N.J. (12/16/25) – Phil Brown Jr. finished with a career-high 27 points and eight rebounds as the Kean University men's basketball team dropped a non-conference heartbreaker to Albright College, 82-79 on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED!!!

• The Lions opened on a 17-4 run behind eight points from Qadir Mitchell.
• The Cougars rallied with a 30-19 run behind 16 points from Brown Jr. to even the game at 34-34.
• Mitchell finished the half with six as Albright held a slim 41-39 lead.
• The second half was a back-and-forth slugfest as neither side held larger than a four-point lead.
• After trading buckets, the Cougars took a slim 69-67 lead on a Braelen Crump triple with 4:35 to play.
• Kean stayed with striking distance but never regained the lead over the final four and change.
• The Cougars would cut the lead to one with under five seconds remaining, but Albright knocked in two free throws to ice the game.
