Men’s Basketball Extends Winning Streak to Four Games with Defeat of #19 TCNJ

EWING, N.J. (12/6/25) – Daniel Dextraze finished with 25 points and 11 rebounds as the Kean University men's basketball team extended their winning streak to four games with a 68-64 victory over the #19 College of New Jersey Lions on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED!!!
  • The first half proved to be a back-and-forth affair with neither side holding larger than a five-point advantage.
  • Phil Brown Jr. and Kareem Irby combined for 13 points as the Cougars and Lions were even with five minutes to play in the opening half.
  • TCNJ closed the half on a 10-4 run for a 31-25 advantage at the break.
  • The Lions opened the second stanza with a 10-2 run, which extended their halftime lead to the largest of the contest at 41-27.
  • The Cougars responded with a 25-11 run to regain the lead at 52-50 with just over seven minutes to play.
  • Dextraze posted 15 points, while Malachi Jeffers-Viera notched six during the run.
  • Despite cutting the lead to one on multiple occasions, the Cougars never surrendered the lead over the final seven minutes.
  • TCNJ would get the lead to 64-62 inside the final minute, but Kean salted away the game from the line.

  • Jeffers-Viera posted 16 points, two assists and two steals.
  • Brown Jr. notched 10 points and five rebounds.
