Men’s Hoops Bows Out of NJAC Tournament

UNION, N.J. (2/22/25) – Phil Brown Jr. totaled 23 points and seven rebounds as the fourth seeded Kean University men's basketball team bowed out of the New Jersey Athletic Conference Tournament with a 90-87 loss to fifth seeded the College of New Jersey on Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED!!!
  • The Cougars opened on a 13-6 run to start the game.
  • Brown Jr. notched five points as Kean held their largest lead of the game.
  • TCNJ responded with a 10-3 run behind seven points from David Alexandre as the Lions evened the contest at 16 all.
  • Both sides traded buckets for the rest of the half
  •  A Nick Koch layup as time expired put Kean in a six point deficit entering the half.
  • Andrew Turco posted six points over the final seven minutes.
  • The second half saw the Lions extend their lead to as many as 12
  • The Cougars rallied behind nine points from Justin Morton as the senior knocked down three triples to cut the deficit to 83-82.
  • TCNJ salted away the game from the line, going 5-for-5 over the final 30 seconds.
