Baltimore, Md. (3/13/25) – The Kean University baseball team rallied from a 7-2 deficit to top Catholic University, 8-7 on Tuesday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Cardinals (6-5) jumped out to a 4-0 lead after three innings using two singles and a sac fly.
Kean (13-2) cut into the deficit with two of their own in the fourth, scoring on an error and an RBI single from Brett Hilsheimer.
Catholic extended their lead in the same inning with two RBI hits and scoring on a balk.
The Cougars used the long ball in the fifth to tie the game up at seven-all. Justin Teixeira got things going with a two run shot to right center and Tyler Stone blasted a three run shot to left.
Teixeira helped scratch across the winning run in the eighth as his ground ball scored Steve Petrosh.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Jason Basilicata earned the win in relief. He allowed just one hit and four walks while fanning seven in five scoreless innings of work.
Offensively Kyle Adorno was 3-for-3 with a double and stolen base.
