Union, N.J. (3/14/25) – The Kean University men's volleyball team rallied to defeat Drew University, 3-2 on Friday evening in CVC action.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Cougars led wire-to-wire in the first set to take an early 1-0 lead.
Late in the second set, the Rangers used a five-point surge to turn a 20-17 deficit into a 22-20 lead. The teams then traded points before Drew scored the final two points on a Kean service error and a kill.
It was a close see-saw affair in the third set with the Cougars capitalizing on three attack errors down the stretch to take a 2-1 lead.
It was Drew's turn to lead wire-to-wire in the fourth set, setting up the decisive fifth set.
The Rangers led by as many as four in the final set, but the Cougars used a 4-0 run late to take a lead they would not relinquish. Aidan Flinn recorded two kills in the spurt while Chris Mitchell added one. Tied at 13-all, the Cougars scored the final two points on a service error and a kill from Mitchell.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Mitchell led all players with 24 kills while Flinn registered 13 kills. David Flores tallied a career-best 53 assists.
