Baseball Coasts Past Centenary, 24-0

Union, N.J. (3/15/25) – The Kean University baseball team pounded out 24 runs and 24 hits in a shutout of visiting Centenary University on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Cougars (15-2) used a balanced scoring attack to start the game and staked themselves a 5-0 lead after four innings.

A three-run sixth inning with a two RBI double from Matthew Del Sol and an RBI single from Tyler Stone extended the lead to 8-0.

Kean then opened the gates in the seventh with a 16 run inning, batting around twice.

In total, 21 Cougars saw action in the contest.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

Offensively Brett Hilsheimer and Stone each had four RBI while Hilsheimer connected on his first homer of the season. 

Kyle Adorno was 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored while Justin Teixeira was 2-for-3 with three runs scored.

Adam Scire was 2-for-2 with two RBI and a double off the bench.

On the mound, Connor Ramsey improved to 2-0 with a five inning performance.  He allowed just one walk and five hits.

Cal Chase and Stone combined for four innings allowing just one hit and one walk with four strikeouts.

UP NEXT:

Kean enjoys a short break and will return to action next Saturday for a doubleheader at home.
