Men’s Lacrosse Rallies to Defeat Muhlenberg

UNION, N.J. (3/22/25) – Nick Thorne and Dylan Johnson combined for nine goals as the Kean University men's lacrosse team rallied from a four goal first half deficit to defeat Muhlenberg College, 15-13 on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED!!!
  • After tallying the first goal of the afternoon, the Mules closed out the opening stanza on a 5-1 run.
  • In the second, Muhlenberg extended their lead to 8-4 with seven minutes remaining, despite goals from Anton Updale and Aarin Arbore.
  • The Cougars responded back-to-back scores from Christian Updale and Johnson which cut the lead to 8-6 with 90 seconds remaining.
  • Muhlenberg scored just before halftime as the Mules held a 9-6 advantage at the half.
  • Kean opened the third quarter with three straight goals, including back-to-back scores by Thorne, which evened everything at nine.
  • After Mules posted back-to back goals, Johnson assisted on the next two Cougars goals, which again evened everything at 11.
  • The Mules struck inside the final minute to hold a one goal lead into the fourth.
  • In the fourth, Kean closed the game with a 4-1, including goals by Johnson, Thorne, and Updale.
