UNION, N.J. (3/26/25) – Chris Mitchell totaled 20 kills as the Kean University men's volleyball team dropped the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championship and a Continental Volleyball Conference match to Rutgers-Newark, 3-1 on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED!!!

• The Scarlet Raiders dominated the opening set, hitting .364 in a 10-point victory.
• The Cougars captured set two with a .385 hitting percentage behind a combined 13 kills from both Mitchell and Danny Pugliano.
• The second set saw 17 ties and six leadn changes as Kean closed with back-to-back kills from Pugliano and Aidan Flinn.
• Mitchell added another six kills in a 25-20 loss that saw 10 ties and six lead changes.
• The final set saw Flinn and Pugliano combine for 10 kills with no errors.
• Newark posted a .316 hitting percentage in a set that saw 22 ties and six lead changes.

INSIDE THE BOX

• Pugliano totaled 14 kills and a .542 hitting percentage.
