Union, N.J. (4/14/25) – The Kean University baseball team improved to 26-5 and 10-0 in the NJAC with an 11-1 win over Montclair State University in a rescheduled matchup on Monday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
#11 Kean broke the game open with six runs in the second. Dan Reistle started things off with a double and Brett Hilsheimer followed with a walk. Both were moved into scoring position by a sacrifice. Dominic Masino loaded the bases as he was hit-by-a-pitch. Nick Sellari drove in two with a single and after Justin Teixeira reloaded the bases with a walk, it was Kyle Adorno's turn for a two RBI single. Later CJ Tomalavage walked with the bases loaded and Reistle, who led off the inning, closed out the scoring with a sac fly.
After plating a single run in the fifth, the Cougars recorded a four-spot in the sixth thanks to two errors, a wild pitch and an RBI single from Tomalavage.
The Red Hawks erased the shutout with a single run in the eighth.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Lucas White earned the win on the mound after tossing six scoreless innings. He allowed just four hits and two walks while also striking out six.
Offensively Adorno, Reistle and Sellari each had two hits.
