Ninth Inning Rally Sends Rutgers-Camden Past Baseball

Union, N.J. (5/1/25) – Rutgers-Camden rallied for six runs in the ninth inning to push past Kean University, 7-4 in the opening round of the NJAC Tournament on Thursday.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

After falling behind 1-0 in the second, the Cougars (34-7) took the lead with a solo homer from CJ Tomalavage (his 12th of the year) and an RBI single from Justin Teixeira.

Kean plated two more in the eighth as Dan Reistle doubled home two as the Cougars took a 4-1 lead.

The Scarlet Raptor (26-10) offense then plated six runs on five hits in their last at-bat, the key blow from Jack Murphy with a bases-clearing double, turning a one run deficit with two outs, into a two run lead.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

Tomalavage and Nick Sellari each had two hits for Kean.

Lost in the action was a strong eight plus outing for rookie Lucas White.  He allowed two runs and six hits while striking out nine in the no-decision.
