Glassboro, N.J. (5/10/25) – The Kean University softball team fell to host Rowan University, 11-0, in an elimination game of the New Jersey Athletic Conference tournament.
With the loss, the Cougars end their season with a 22-22 mark. Rowan (41-2) advances to take on Ramapo College, winners of game eight, tomorrow, on championship Sunday.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Rowan scratched across a single run in the first on a throwing error.
They added to their lead in the fourth with two more. The Profs connected on three singles to start the frame, but Kean was able to keep the first runner off the board as the relay of Brianna Sciulli-Kiley Allen-Andee Perseponko registered the first out of the inning at the plate. Rowan added a sac fly and later two more hits, to increase their lead to 3-0.
The Profs exploded in the fifth for eight runs on seven hits. Kean battled with three different pitchers, but the Rowan offense was also able to work three walks and send 13 batters to the plate.
Kean was able to scratch across a one-out hit in the bottom of the inning, but Rowan was able to close out the game with two flyouts.
