Baseball Bows Out of World Series

Eastlake, Ohio (6/1/25) – The Kean University baseball team suffered a 5-4 loss to Endicott College to end their postseason run on Sunday evening.

The Cougars end the season with a 41-11 overall record, the third time in program history that they reached the 40+ win threshold.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Kean started off the contest with a three-spot in their first at bat.  Senior Kyle Adorno lined a one out double and Tyler Stone followed with a single to put runners on the corners.  Dan Reistle drove in the game's first run with an RBI fielder's choice.  Justin Teixeira bunted home two as the Cougars took an early lead.

The Gulls answered right back and scored two in the same frame with two sac flies, sandwiched around two hits, a walk and an error.

The Cougars extended their lead in the second as John Chiusano led off the inning with a double and moved to third and scored on sacrifices.

Endicott pulled within one in the bottom of the third with two doubles.

The score would remain that way until the bottom of the seventh as Robbie Wladkowski launched a two run homer to left to give Endicott their first lead of the day (5-3).

Kean rallied in the top of the ninth as JT Abrusci singled to start things off and was lifted for a pinch runner.  He advanced to second on a wild pitch but was caught drifting too far off second and was picked off for the first out of the inning.  Endicott was able to induce two groundouts to seal the win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

Abrusci was 3-for-4 while Reistle was 2-for-4.
