PITMAN, N.J. (9/22/25) – Aspen O'Brien has been named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Player of the Week, while
Ashley Torok has been tabbed the New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week.
O'Brien totaled 152 assists, 32 digs and eight kills as the Cougars 4-0 this past week. The McHenry, Ill. native averaged 11.69 assists per set and 2.46 digs per set over 13 sets played. The senior setter recorded a career-high 61 assists and set a school record (in the 25-point era) during a thrilling five-set victory over Salisbury on Saturday morning. Her outstanding weekend performance earned her Kean Invitational MVP recognition. She currently leads the NJAC by far in assists, averaging 11.05 per set.
Torok totaled 66.5 points, 60 kills and 32 digs as the Cougars 4-0 this past week. The Woodbridge, N.J. native averaged 5.10 points per set, 4.62 kills per set and 2.46 digs per set over 13 sets played. The freshman outside hitter tallied 60 kills across the four matches, including a standout 25-kill performance in the five-set victory over Salisbury. She currently ranks second among all NJAC players with 4.61 points per set this season. She also ranks third in kills (3.88/set) and among the top 10 in service aces (0.56/set).
Kean travels to New Paltz on Friday.
