Union, N.J. (9/5/25) - The Kean University Department of Athletics has announced Dr. Brian Teasdale as the next Faculty Athletics Representative.
Dr. Teasdale replaces Pat Ippolito, a member of the Kean University community for over 60 years and Kean Athletics Hall of Fame member, who recently announced his retirement.
Brian W. Teasdale, Ph.D., serves as Associate Dean of the Dorothy and George Hennings College of Science, Mathematics, and Technology at Kean University.
A faculty member in Biological Sciences since 2006, his academic work focuses on plant biology and marine algae, and he has played a leading role in expanding and strengthening science programs at Kean. In his administrative roles, he has developed new degree pathways, advanced curriculum initiatives, and supported student success programs that help undergraduates transition into and thrive in rigorous STEM fields. He has also been active in research, grant development, and mentoring student projects in the sciences.
A longtime supporter of college athletics, Dr. Teasdale enjoys attending Kean sporting events and values the role they play in the student experience. As Faculty Athletics Representative, he will work closely with faculty, administrators, and coaches to ensure that student-athletes are supported academically, represent the university with integrity, and graduate prepared for success beyond athletics.
