HOBOKEN, N.J. (1/3/26) – Four starters finished in double figures as the Kean University men's basketball team dropped a non-conference contest to the Stevens Ducks, 67-63 in the Stevens Holiday Tournament on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED!!!

• The Ducks controlled much of a back and forth first half.
• Stevens held as much as a nine-point lead, before the Cougars closed on a 14-7 run.
• Malachi Jeffers-Viera and Daniel Dextraze combined for 11 points as Kean took a four-point deficit into halftime.  
• Stevens opened the second stanza with a 15-4 run, which extended their halftime lead back to 13.
• After trading buckets, Kean pulled the lead down to four at 58-54 with 1:32 remaining.
• The Ducks salted the game away from the line, going 7-for-9 down the stretch.

INSIDE THE BOX

• Dextraze totaled 17 points and seven rebounds.
• Jeffers-Viera finished with 14 points.
• Phil Brown Jr. recorded 13 points and nine rebounds.
• Kareem Irby posted 11 points.
