Men’s Basketball Bows Out of NJAC Tournament

GALLOWAY, N.J. (2/21/26) – Kareem Irby finished with 29 points and made six triples as the Kean University men's basketball team bowed out of the New Jersey Athletic Conference Tournament with a 78-72 quarterfinal loss to Stockton University on Saturday evening.  

HOW IT HAPPENED!!!
  • Irby scored 11 first half points as neither side held larger than a six-point advantage.
  • Stockton took the two-point advantage into the locker room after Justin Harper hit a triple as time expired.
  • The Ospreys opened the second stanza with a 23-9 run that extended their halftime lead to the largest of the game at 55-39 with 12:53 remaining.
  • Irby and Malachi Jeffers-Viera combined for 27 points as the Cougars pulled the deficit down to two points at 72-70 with under three minutes to play.
  • Stockton finished on a 6-2 run, including going 4-for-6 from the line.
