NEWARK, N.J. (3/18/26) – Chris Mitchell finished with 16 kills as the #19 Kean University men's volleyball team claimed their second New Jersey Athletic Conference Championship and picked up a Continental Volleyball Conference victory with a 3-1 defeat of #13 Rutgers-Newark at the Golden Dome on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED!!!

• Mitchell tallied six kills in a 25-22 set one victory that saw the Cougars post a .419 hitting percentage.
• Kean survived to take set two 25-23, after Newark rallied from nine down to tie the set at 23-23.
• The Scarlet Raiders committed a service error and an attack error over the final two points.
• Newark dominated set three with a .364 hitting percentage and seven kills from Michael Suarez.
• The Cougars responded in the fourth set with a .303 hitting percentage and seven kills from Mitchell.
