Softball Sweeps Rutgers-Camden

Camden, N.J. (4/26/26) – The Kean University softball team swept host Rutgers-Camden, 6-1 and 5-0 on Sunday afternoon.

With today's action, the NJAC tournament is now set, despite multiple games still needing to be finished tomorrow.

Kean is the third seed and will host #6 Ramapo College on Tuesday at 3 p.m.  The rest of the seeds are as follows:

        1.       Stockton

        2.       Rowan

        3.       Kean

        4.       TCNJ

        5.       Montclair State

        6.       Ramapo

Kean 6, Rutgers-Camden 1 (Game One)

In the circle, Nikki Lusnia threw a no-hitter through six innings. With a 6-0 lead heading into the seventh, Rutgers-Camden broke through with a single to start the frame and later broke up the shutout with an RBI single.

Kean used a balanced scoring attack plating a single run in the first, two in the fourth, one in the fifth and two more in the seventh. 

Offensively Brianna Sciulli was 3-for-4 with two runs scored while Gina Mahlik was 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Kean 5, Rutgers-Camden 0

The Cougars used two innings to plate five runs in the nightcap while Samantha Raymond tossed a complete game shutout.

Kiley Allen got Kean on the board with a three-run homer in the third.  Mahlik delivered an RBI double in the fifth and Rielynn Carey closed on the scoring with an RBI single in the same frame.

Raymond allowed just three hits and two walks while earning the win.
