Union, N.J. (9/5/26) – The Kean University women's volleyball team lost their first match of the season in a tight five setter on Friday evening against SUNY Cortland.
Cortland 3, Kean 2 (26-24, 23-25, 23-25, 25-18, 10-15)
· Despite losing the contest the Cougars (1-1) held a slight advantage in kills (57), aces (9), assists (55) and digs (52).
· Cayley Elena Morrison led all players with 19 kills.
· Ashley Torok was close behind with 18 kills. She added 11 digs for her second straight double-double.
· Rae Marrero tallied 51 assists while Annabelle Valencia contributed with 17 digs.
The Cougars return to action on Saturday when they host Penn State Harrisburg and nationally ranked Wisconsin-Whitewater.
